Whether it’s yet another superhero origin story, a beloved sitcom on its fifth streaming revival, or the resurgence of vinyl records, we seem to crave the familiar as much as the new.

At its Aug. 8  Rise and Grind event, Visit Granbury unveiled the official names of Granbury’s two new iconic and retro-inspired trollies. These two trollies hit Granbury’s streets in late February, replacing the trolley that had serviced the city since the trolley system was introduced more than a decade ago.

One upcoming event is promising “A Little Less Conversation” and a lot more rock n’ roll when Elvis tribute artist Hunter Cole graces the stage from 4-7 p.m. at Oasis Tranquilo, 950 Williamson Road, Sunday, Aug. 17.

The 17th annual Blazin’ Saddle 75 roll s through Granbury Aug. 2, bringing cyclists of all levels together for an epic day of riding, camaraderie and scenic routes.

Despite the development boom of North Texas, the Native Prairies Association of Texas made yet another major leap into protecting Texas’ precarious prairies in Somervell County through Drake Ranch’s recent acquisition of a conservation easement. The association now looks hopefully toward Hood County.

Granbury High School’s new principal Duane Fish is no stranger to school administration, but he is a stranger to Granbury ISD. Aug 14, Fish will take his place at the helm of the pirate ship, beginning his first year as GHS’s principal — and he’s got some lofty goals for the pirate crew.
