BARREL RACER: Tolar's Jordon Briggs is cashing in at 2021 NFR

Posted

In a sport where perfection doesn't always pay off, Tolar professional barrel racer Jordan Briggs is raking in the money in Las Vegas at the PRCA's National Finals Rodeo.

Briggs and her horse Famous Lil Jet "Rollo," had what appeared to be a flawless run as the pair posted a run of 13.54 seconds. Hailey Kinsel was second with a time of 13.53.

That .01 difference in time cost Briggs $5,225, but she still picked up her biggest check of this year's NFR with a $16,111 payday that more than doubled her take-home pay to $31,786.

2021 is Brigg's second NFR (2009), and when she's aboard the 2021 AQHA/WPRA Nutrena Barrel Racing Horse-of-the-Year, anything is possible. The 2014 gelding was bred by Busby Quarter Horses and is by all-time leading barrel racing sire Dash Ta Fame and out of Blazin Black Beauty by Blazin Jetolena out of Lady Perks.

Briggs also has her rodeo pedigree – her mother, Kristie Peterson, is a four-time WPRA World Champion and ProRodeo Hall of Fame inductee.

Currently ranked 3rd in the world and 3rd in the average at the NFR, Briggs won $102,618 during the regular season.
