Sophomore hurler Reese Tryon pitched a two-hitter, and Tolar’s Hope Grivette drove in five runs as the Lady Rattlers beat Petrolia 14-3 to win an area title Friday at Bowie High School.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning, Tolar got rolling in the third inning as the Lady Rattlers scored three runs in the third, six in the fourth and four more in the fifth.
Grivette would end the night perfect at the plate as she went 4-4 and also scored four runs to be a part of nine of the Lady Rattlers’ 14 runs.
Freshmen Senne Imel was also impressive as she went 3-4 and had two RBIs.
Tolar got two hits from Tryon and Allyson Dobbs and one from Kody Gay, Makayla Moore and Baili Deaver. Deaver also had a pair of RBIs, while Tryon and Moore had one each.
